Bolaffi can trace its history back to 1890 when Alberto Bolaffi founded a philatelic business in Turin, Italy. Since that date Bolaffi has been managed by four generations of the same family. As the business has grown it has diversified into other areas including coins, mail-order, publishing, bullion and general auction.
Staying true to Alberto Bolaffi’s original aim, and with a strong sense of pride in the company’s history, the Bolaffi Group is committed to
providing the highest quality of customer service not least of all to its clients in the stamp and coin markets where it is a global leader.
In 2018 Bolaffi expanded into Spain and Great Britain though the purchase of the historical auction houses Soler y Llach and Harmers of London. This expansion is designed to allow the group to better serve its international clients across Europe and beyond.

Aste Bolaffi
For 130 years the Bolaffi family has spread the joy of collecting with reliability and passion in Italy and abroad. Strengthened by the expertise tied to the Bolaffi name and by a team of highly qualified experts, since 1990 the subsidiary Aste Bolaffi has been organising auctions of valuable and collectible items, and its history is studded with record-breaking sales.
Today Aste Bolaffi examines, advises, and sells with the same passion and attention to detail that defined it from the outset. Decades of experience and important sales, coupled with a close monitoring of the international market, and an eye for trends in the collectibles field are its trademark.
Harmers of London
Boasting one of the most iconic names in philately, Harmers has a long and distinguished history. Founded in 1918 by H.R. Harmer, the company is headquartered in St James’s, a stone’s throw from its original premises on Bond Street.
Harmers joined the Bolaffi Group in 2018 and now with its help is investing in and helping pushing this historic brand to grow with a dynamic modern approach that respects the company’s legacy. As of 2020 Harmers’ traditional philatelic business will be complemented by numismatic auctions, creating a market leading collectibles auction house ready for the future challenges and opportunities of the fast paced needs of the new collectors.
Soler y Llach
Founded in 1989 by the merger of two historical companies Soler y Llach has specialised in philately and numismatics. From its Barcelona base Soler y Llach and its forerunners have served the Spanish collectible market for over a century. The company’s dedication to excellence is evident in the service it offers its Spanish and international clients, especially building close tights with all the Spanish speaking collectors.
Since joining the Bolaffi Group Soler y Llach has sided its traditional offering to stamp and coin collectors with a focus on single owner and specialized collections. It is also developing an even stronger bridge between Europe and all the Latin world by feeding to this fast growing population of collectors a wide variety of avenues to satisfy their desires.
