Coin Auction in Madrid
The Bolaffi Auction Group will hold its Coin Auction on Saturday, 4 July 2026, from 6:30 p.m., at El Ateneo de Madrid and live online.
The sale will feature 300 lots, offering a journey through ancient, European and modern coinage. Among the highlights are a Syracuse dekadrachm of Dionysios I, starting at €20,000; a Panticapaeum gold stater from the Bosphorus, starting at €25,000; an 8 escudos of Felipe IV, minted in Seville in 1660, starting at €10,000; and a 1957 gold pattern of the 50 pesetas of Francisco Franco, starting at €50,000.
Further notable lots include a People’s Republic of China gold 800 yuan from 1981 and a George II proof silver crown dated 1746.
Viewing will take place in Barcelona at Soler y Llach from 25 to 29 June, excluding Saturday and Sunday, and in Madrid on 2 July at Hotel Meliá Madrid Serrano and on 3 and 4 July at Hotel The Palace Madrid.
